Knox students can expect a connection to industry as part of their time in the Academy of Global Competency and last week our Year 10 boys had the privilege of hearing from a range of experts as part of their Global Challenge project.
Knox Grammar School
The topics were varied and boys were able to choose the disciplines that closely matched their interests, which were as follows:
Future of Work
David Caspari – Knox Grammar School Council Deputy Chairman and CEO and Managing Director, Janison Group

Innovation and Technology
Harrison Faktor (OKG17) – Healthcare AI Specialist, Microsoft

Renewable Energy
Ben Crowe – Director Carbon Markets, CBL/Expansiv

Environmental Sustainability
Kate Dodds – PhD: Living Seawalls in Sydney Harbour

Inequality
We Are Mobilise – charity focusing on homelessness and associated challenges
Health and Wellbeing
Adam Shaw – Knox PDHPE teacher, Year 7 Team Leader and former NRL player

The Year 10 students will use this new information to dive deeper into the area/s of their choice in Term 4, producing projects outlining and proposing solutions to a series of questions posed by the expert presenters.
The sessions were a fantastic opportunity for the boys to gain an understanding of the new work mindset (a term introduced by Mr Caspari to explain professional environments of the future!)
Thank you to Mr Caspari, Mr Faktor, Mr Crowe, Dr Dodds, We Are Mobilise and Mr Shaw for their time and insights.

“Visual Arts deepens our understanding of ourselves, our communities, and the world around us,” says Wendy Shearer (Visual Arts Teacher and Head of Department, Senior School). “Through creative practice, students explore ideas, communicate experiences, and develop personal ways of seeing and interpreting the world. Art becomes both a form of expression and a means of connecting across time, place, and culture.
