Our Year 1 boys have had a busy day collaborating and assembling solar powered lights for children living in extreme energy poverty as part of the ‘Light Up Vanuatu’ campaign.
The project was led by our Year 1 students as part of their Knoxigations unit of inquiry ‘Energy Powers Our World’.
As part of their inquiry, the Year 1 boys inspired our community to be mindful global citizens, learn about energy poverty and foster values and empathy while having a real-world impact. They raised enough money to purchase 190 solar light kits.
They will now send the lights off to Vanuatu with a hand written letter from each of our Year 1 students.

Art becomes both a form of expression and a means of connecting across time, place, and culture.
