It’s been a big couple of weeks for our Knox Swimming Team.
Knox Grammar School
Following on from their win at the CAS Swimming and Diving Championships, the students had the opportunity to behold the jacket of Olympian William Yang (OKG16) at the Knox Heritage Centre.
We thank Will for generously donating his jacket to the school. You can read his inspiring story of determination, resilience, and excellent athleticism here.
When asked about what motivates them in their swimming practice, this is what the Year 12 swimmers said:
Zak (Year 12), Knox Swim Team Captain: “Being a role model for the younger boys so they feel supported.”
Colin (Year 12): “Keeping disciplined event when I’m not motivated to swim and setting an example for the younger boys to follow.”
Hunter (Year 12): “To strive for personal excellence and to stay determined in the face of adversity.”
Tristen (Year 12): “On the days you had 25 percent to give, and you gave 25 percent, you still gave 100 percent.”
Here, you can see the students looking for William Yang’s name amongst the Olympians featured in the lining of the jacket.
