Students took in the sights of Sydney, including a surfing lesson at Manly Beach, during a fun-filled day out as we welcomed 49 new boarders and their families to Knox Boarding in 2025.

On Sunday 2 February, the students enjoyed the sun and surf at North Steyne, where they received instructions on the correct and safe techniques of surfing and bodyboarding.
They then headed over to Circular Quay via the iconic Manly ferry where the students were able to experience beautiful Sydney Harbour and walk through the busy Rock's markets, before making their way across the Harbour Bridge to visit the Kirribilli Markets.
The day provided a stunning view of the Harbour, giving our Stage 4 boys the chance to compete in taking the best photo.
The excursion was a great success for our new boarders in bonding the Boarding community.

“Visual Arts deepens our understanding of ourselves, our communities, and the world around us,” says Wendy Shearer (Visual Arts Teacher and Head of Department, Senior School). “Through creative practice, students explore ideas, communicate experiences, and develop personal ways of seeing and interpreting the world. Art becomes both a form of expression and a means of connecting across time, place, and culture.
