A squad of 30 students and five staff from Knox Grammar trained and played games against schools in Texas and California, with the Knox Freshmen (Year 8 and 9) Team finishing the tour undefeated and the Knox Junior (Year 10 and 11) Varsity team winning the Jarrell High School Tournament in Texas.
“The boys really developed individually by the end of the tour and learned valuable lessons about themselves and their roles as a team player in a basketball team, which was encouraging to witness,” said Knox MIC Basketball Ms Ellie Manou.
The boys watched NBA games between the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings and San Antonia Spurs and Boston Celtics, with the boys invited to meet the players and be involved in the in-game entertainment.
